2nd-Year Semantics Syllabus

Remember, our syllabus for Semantics covers Units 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 in the Book. The Definiteness/Indefiniteness PART IN UNIT 7 IS CANCELLED. Make sure you are very familiar with the following terms and concepts. As you can see, they are not so many, study them inside-out. The best way to study these terms and concepts is to first identify their definitions, details, and examples in the book, then collect related terms together in one sheet of paper. This will make less than 10 pages tops. Make sure these sheets contain every detail and some examples for every term. Spend sometime on these sheets to make sure they cover all the syllabus. Put the book aside, and study your sheets inside out. If you feel some concept is hard to understand or to get examples for, check your class notes. If you see any new words in this list that you do not recognize, do not worry we will cover what we have missed in class. Good luck.
